In 2018 we went on our first long hike. I have done many shorter ones but that mostley consisted of 2-3 day hikes, no we atemted a 16 day hike from Abisko - Kvikkjokk located in the Swedish Lapplands. From the very first footstep we fell in love with the nature surrounding us. I can honestly say that i did'nt even once feel like i wanted to go home rather when we finished i just wanted to keep hiking. We started early august in Abisko, the first two days he body had to climetize to the everyday walking but after that is was simply amazin. We did'nt sleep once in the avalible huts along the way, we slept in our tent every night. For those who havn't tried it, its the best night sleep i ever had. we slept about 10 hours every night to the sound of a light breeze and drizzling water exept for that one day when we had winds blowing up to 30m/s but that was an experience too. Kungsleden offers fantastic tent spot through out the trail just at arm-length. But the best part of hiking in the Swedish Lappland is the water, THE WATER!!! All of the water in motion is drinkeble without a filter. The water is also almost always near you so you dont have to carry that heavy water that you usaually do. The cold glaciar water direct from the stream makes the fountain of youth seem like sewage. Its perfect! Most of the huts offers a small shop and sauna where you can remedy your feet and enjoy a light beer in the cool nothern, gazzing in the sun. We had 8 perfect days and 6 where it rained on and off. The northern weather is very changeble so keep that in mind when hiking high up north. We met with my mum and my uncle at Saltoluokta for the last four days of hiking. But unfortunetley my moms feet broke down and my uncle strted having problems with his hips. So we took a helicoter from Atse to Kvikkjokk and on the wayto the chopper i sparained my ancle really bad. Like my grandfather says "you cant be lucky every time". However having my girlfrind, mom and uncle there with us made me forget all about it, we laughed it all away and got an awsome helicopterride with our dog. Sounds like a pretty awsome trip to me!
